Promoting sexual health is not just a matter of good hygiene or preventing infectious diseases that undermine one’s sexual health. It also entails having a good and balanced diet. Good food allows the body to acquire various nutrients that are needed by the internal organs to function well. Even skin rejuvenates through the consumption of nutritious meals and water.

The lack of a balanced, nutritious diet could expose a person to several physiological problems. Women, for example, could experience irregular periods or even entirely miss several periods due to overeating and over-exercise. Amenorrhea, or the absence of menstrual periods, is also welcomed by young women because they are pleased that they no longer need to use a tampon or sanitary napkin. However, what is not often realized by these women is that missing menstrual periods may already be a sign of decreased estrogen levels. Low estrogen levels, as well as over-training, can lead to osteoporosis Women who lack calcium intake can also develop a higher risk of osteoporosis or brittle bone syndrome. Osteoporosis causes a woman’s bone density to decrease, leaving her skeletal system weak and vulnerable to fractures. Low estrogen levels during the peak years of bone-building through the preteen and teen years, can affect bone density for the rest of your life. You cannot regain bone growth lost during these years.

Poor nutrition can also cause other delays or problems in physical development among women. These adverse effects of malnutrition may include underdevelopment of mammary glands, hormonal imbalance, stunted growth, weakness, anemia, internal organ failure, and even difficulty in conception.

Improper eating habits can also cause some women to develop psychological problems. Anorexia and bulimia are two of the most common eating disorders reported today especially among younger women. More than just being drawn into a pattern of near-fatal under-eating. Self-inflicted starvation is a dangerous effect of having an imbalanced sense of self-worth and self-image. Young women who believe that “she can never be too thin” starve themselves almost to the point of death.

Other psychological problems may occur by hormonal changes in a woman’s body. These hormonal changes usually trigger symptoms of depression, sleeping difficulties, oversensitivity, mood swings, and anxiety. In extreme cases, women with psychological problems may even attempt suicide. Specifically, changes in thyroid hormone levels can cause symptoms of depression including mood swings, irritability, fatigue, lack of concentration, sleeping problems, and weight gain. Women with eating disorders can also expose themselves to bullying especially when others see them as being different, weird, or weak.

Among men, hormonal changes often caused by poor nutrition. Over-exercise or overtraining also creates a sharp decline in male testosterone levels. Men with testosterone problems usually suffer from low sperm count, lack of sex drive, and erection problems.

Indeed, food is not only for the stomach. Good and proper nutrition is also essential to male and female health, especially in the area of sexual ability and performance. By eating the right kinds and amounts of food plus getting enough rest and exercise, men and women can improve their sexual performance and overall sense of well-being.

Why Flirting is Important to Relationships

Why Flirting is Important to Relationships

What is flirting? Are you good at it? Do you recognize it when someone is flirting with you? Is flirting harmful to relationships or good for them? Some people think that flirting is harmful, but I am here to tell you why flirting is essential to relationships. Before we can talk about why flirting is important to relationships. However, we must first identify what flirting is.

Love Swans

Flirting is a form of communication that happens between two people that indicates the other is playfully interested in either getting to know the other one better or taking the relationship a little farther. Flirting can take many forms. Flirting can be the wink of an eye. Flirting can be a comment that can be both suggestive and innocent. Flirting can be a casual touch of the hand to the shoulder. Flirting can be a shy smile with downturned face and slanted eyes. Okay, so now that we all know what we are talking about, it is time to learn why flirting is important to relationships.

First, flirting is important to relationships early on; it is teasing that begins relationships. If no one ever flirts, no one ever knows that the other person is interested, and the link never gets started.

Flirting early on is also essential because it makes you feel as if you are attractive. Nothing makes someone more attractive than feeling that others like the way they look. In other words, flirting builds confidence, and confidence makes the person even more attractive. It is a joyful game that makes people feel good and wants to get to know you better; which is why flirting is important to relationships early on.

Lovers in the shadow

Later, flirting is important to relationships because it signals an intimate connection to your partner. Nothing makes a woman feel better than to know that she and her man have a lingering connection, and nothing can bring up that feeling in her quite like an innocent-but-more flirt from across the room at a crowded gathering. It is as if the whole world disappears for just a moment and there is nothing and only the two people involved.

Studies show that flirting is important to relationships even when the connection has been ongoing for years; that is because it makes the couple feel good about themselves, their partner, and the link in general. Why is flirting important to relationships?

It keeps a little sizzle going and makes you feel great, sexy, and wanted. So, the next time you are enduring a boring-but-necessary business event or sitting through your niece’s graduation party or getting ready to go to the grocery store, remember why flirting is important to relationships and give your spouse or significant other a little pinch on the butt or a quick little wink of the eye. Trust me; it will work wonders and bring a little spice to your love life.
