Why Flirting is Important to Relationships

Why Flirting is Important to Relationships

What is flirting? Are you good at it? Do you recognize it when someone is flirting with you? Is flirting harmful to relationships or good for them? Some people think that flirting is harmful, but I am here to tell you why flirting is essential to relationships. Before we can talk about why flirting is important to relationships. However, we must first identify what flirting is.

Love Swans

Flirting is a form of communication that happens between two people that indicates the other is playfully interested in either getting to know the other one better or taking the relationship a little farther. Flirting can take many forms. Flirting can be the wink of an eye. Flirting can be a comment that can be both suggestive and innocent. Flirting can be a casual touch of the hand to the shoulder. Flirting can be a shy smile with downturned face and slanted eyes. Okay, so now that we all know what we are talking about, it is time to learn why flirting is important to relationships.

First, flirting is important to relationships early on; it is teasing that begins relationships. If no one ever flirts, no one ever knows that the other person is interested, and the link never gets started.

Flirting early on is also essential because it makes you feel as if you are attractive. Nothing makes someone more attractive than feeling that others like the way they look. In other words, flirting builds confidence, and confidence makes the person even more attractive. It is a joyful game that makes people feel good and wants to get to know you better; which is why flirting is important to relationships early on.

Lovers in the shadow

Later, flirting is important to relationships because it signals an intimate connection to your partner. Nothing makes a woman feel better than to know that she and her man have a lingering connection, and nothing can bring up that feeling in her quite like an innocent-but-more flirt from across the room at a crowded gathering. It is as if the whole world disappears for just a moment and there is nothing and only the two people involved.

Studies show that flirting is important to relationships even when the connection has been ongoing for years; that is because it makes the couple feel good about themselves, their partner, and the link in general. Why is flirting important to relationships?

It keeps a little sizzle going and makes you feel great, sexy, and wanted. So, the next time you are enduring a boring-but-necessary business event or sitting through your niece’s graduation party or getting ready to go to the grocery store, remember why flirting is important to relationships and give your spouse or significant other a little pinch on the butt or a quick little wink of the eye. Trust me; it will work wonders and bring a little spice to your love life.

Threats to Male Sexual Health

Threats to Male Sexual Health

Male sexual health is threatened by penile and testicular disorders which can damage a man’s fertility and capability for sexual activity. These disorders include priapism, balanitis, balanoposthitis, phimosis, and penile cancer. This article discusses these disorders, their causes, and treatment methods.

Some of the most common threats to male sexual health manifest themselves as penile and testicular disorders. These disorders that affect the male external reproductive organs can severely affect a man’s fertility as well as sexual functioning. Below are some of the most common threats to male sexual health:

Priapism

Priapism is often termed as the opposite of erectile dysfunction. In this case, a man experiences a painful erection which often lasts for four hours or even longer. Priapism occurs when blood flows into the penis but is not drained sufficiently. Since priapism is not an effect of sexual activity, it cannot be relieved by masturbation and orgasm.

Some of the most common causes of priapism are:

* blood pressure medications and antidepressants

* drug use and alcohol

* anesthesia

* blood diseases

* penile injection therapy

Treatment for priapism usually come in the form of medical emergencies. Blood is drained out of the penis by using a needle to relieve the erection and restore normal organ function. Medications for priapism are designed to shrink penile blood vessels to minimize blood flow. However, treatment of underlying conditions is preferred to prevent priapism or its recurrence.

Balanitis and Balanoposthitis

Balanitis refers to the inflammation of the glans or penis’s head. On the other hand, balanoposthitis is the inflammation of both the glans and the foreskin. Both disorders exhibit similar symptoms like rash, pain, swelling, foul discharge, and itching in the penile area. These disorders are common in men and boys who have poor personal hygiene and are uncircumcised.

Irritants the cause balanitis and balanoposthitis include:

* dead skin cells

* tight foreskins

* infection

* dermatitis

* diabetes

Circumcision and the practice of proper hygiene can prevent and alleviate both disorders. However, the best way to treat these disorders is by treatment of underlying conditions especially if the irritations are caused by infections, dermatitis, and diabetes.

Phimosis

Although it is not really a disease, phimosis is a condition that can cause one. Phimosis occurs when the foreskin is too tight that it cannot be retracted to reveal the head of the penis. This condition can cause extreme discomfort when it comes to sexual activity, urination, and personal hygiene.

A common cause of phimosis includes:

* birth defect

* scar tissue

* infection

* balanitis

Treatment for this condition usually includes gentle manual stretching of the foreskin to increase its elasticity. Circumcision and medication to loosen the skin are also popular options in treating phimosis. For a less traumatic treatment than circumcision, some opt for protoplasts or separating the glans from the foreskin.

Penile Cancer

A rare form of cancer, penile cancer occurs when abnormal cell growth in the penis increase and grow. Non-cancerous or benign penile tumors can also develop into cancer over time. Symptoms of penile cancer often take the form of penile sores, bleeding, and abnormal discharge. The cause of penile cancer is not definite but there are certain risk factors that increase a man’s chances of developing this disease.

Some of these risks include:

* uncircumcision

* smoking

* smegma

* age

* human papillomavirus

* phimosis

* psoriasis treatment

Surgical removal of the cancer is the most common way to treat penile cancer. The cancer is often taken out using any of the following procedures:

* wide local excision

* cryosurgery

* microsurgery

* curettage and electrodesiccation

* laser surgery

* penectomy

This is a very serious topic and if any of these symptoms apply to you or someone you know seek professional medical help.

Eating Your Way to Better Sexual Health

Eating Your Way to Better Sexual Health

Most people would cast the notion of eating to improve sexual health and performance as a myth, much like how deodorants supposedly cause breast cancer. However, the medical reality is that some foods can improve the systems of the body that are involved in sexual functions. For example, foods that improve circulation inevitably improve sexual endurance.

Egg , chives, plate, knife and fork look like sperm competition, Spermatozoons floating to ovule

What do grapes, oysters, and chocolates have in common? Well, aside from being food, they’re all supposedly aphrodisiacs. For the unaware, an aphrodisiac is basically a food or drug that has effects on sexual health, typically by either making it easier to become sexually aroused or by boosting sexual performance. Now, while all the above foods have been known to release varying levels of endorphins into the body in the same way sex does, they are not necessarily all that beneficial to one’s sexual health. Of course, that doesn’t mean that food and meals don’t play a part in a person’s sex life, because there’s quite a bit of scientific data saying that it does.

Working from the top and going down, the brain is the core of all activity that concerns the body, including sexual functions. Replacing full meals with snacks or junk food can seriously decrease the usual flow of nutrients to the brain, making it less capable of processing all the stimuli and emotions involved in sexual activity. In short, the lack of nutrients can dampen someone’s ability to enjoy sexual intercourse.

Moving a little lower, it makes sense that sexual health is connected to the overall state of the circulatory system. Blood circulation is necessary not only for the proper functioning of internal organs but also for ensuring the functions of the male and female reproductive organs. So, if the heart or the blood vessels are in poor condition, it also has a detrimental effect on the body’s ability to perform properly during sexual intercourse. Increased or improved blood flow helps increase the sensitivity to stimuli of the appropriate organs and heightens the level of physical endurance during intercourse.

For more specific help regarding food and sexual health, some might want to investigate Nitric Oxide, which is not to be confused with Nitrous Oxide. Nitric Oxide (NO) is the substance found on the lining of the internal workings of male and female genitalia. Without it, men can’t obtain or sustain an erection (even with proper blood flow), while women are unable to become lubricated, regardless of what stimulation is put in there. Some doctors suggest that the ingestion of arginine, another substance which encourages the body to produce NO. Arginine helps improve circulation and sexual health. Arginine is typically found in walnuts, almonds, and salmon.

Antioxidants, particularly the ones that are chemically abundant in dark chocolate, also have positive effects on sexual performance and health. Antioxidants are linked to improved blood circulation, something that has already been mentioned as being beneficial to sex. Other good sources include tomatoes, spinach, garlic, red peppers, and red grapes. However, some point out that chocolate somehow also increases desire along with improving performance, likely because of certain components in chocolate can improve circulation.

Martial arts and sexual health

Martial arts and sexual health

The article talks about the health benefits of exercise and martial arts which may include a better sex life. However, too much of these activities may also cause adverse effects in one’s sterility.

According to history, in A.D. 527, an emperor named Wu Di invited an Indian monk named Bodhidharma to travel to China.  The purpose of the journey was for Bodhidharma to come and teach his fellow monks in certain exercises to help strengthen their bodies.  Monks in Henan province were frequently attacked by bandits and had no training in how to defend themselves.

After arriving in Henan Temple, Bodhidharma meditated for nine long years.  After he finished the meditation, Bodhidharma wrote two books entitled, “Yi Jin Jing” and “Xi Sui Jing”.  The former was about exercises for developing external strength while the latter was about meditation and breathing. After finishing the two books, he wrote a third book entitled “Shi Bao Luo Han Shou” (The Eighteen Hands of Lohan), which was about his experiences as a member of the Kshatriya. (Indian warriors and rulers). This book included synchronized defensive routines. Historians consider this book as the first manual on offensive and defensive combat movements.  That was how the martial arts began in China.

These facts explain the close similarity of the postures in Chinese martial arts and yoga. Both traditions focused on the lower abdominal region as the center of all human energy (chi, pneuma, ki). Martial arts and Yoga were both developed to promote a healthy body, increase lifespan, and attain a state of bliss.

According to Eastern beliefs, the mysterious power of the chi is responsible for self-healing, self-recovery, and self-realization; and that all life in the cosmos is inspired by the chi.  As the “life force” or vital energy that is present in every living thing, it is also the same force that controls the universe. Chi is the Chinese word for the word life…and translated as ‘pneuma’ in Greek… and ‘ki’ in Japanese.

Clinical studies show that martial artists use several aspects of fitness like muscular strength, endurance, aerobic, and anaerobic conditioning. Their training also involves flexibility, body composition, motor skills, and coordination. These training modes may give practitioners health benefits such as stronger muscles and improved endurance. Martial arts training also includes meditation. These moments of stillness may bring short periods of relaxation. Some people see martial arts as “moving meditation.”  Researches have also shown that the regular practice of martial arts help release stress and improve one’s self-esteem.

But more than just a system of self-defense and meditation, the martial arts practice is also associated with the improvement of libido and overall sexual performance. People who frequently exercise have more energy, less anxiety, better self-esteem, and increased testosterone levels. Martial arts not only firm one’s body and improve their overall health, but martial arts can also improve one’s sex life. The practice of martial arts entails rigorous physical exertion.  Still, Bodhidharma was careful to teach his monk-students about the virtue of moderation.  He taught them that even in martial arts, care must be exercised to avoid over-training. Some studies show that too much intense physical training may influence one’s sterility.

An investigation by health experts revealed that exercising too much causes fatigue, which then temporarily reduces sperm count and quality.  Other researches point out that those who exercised to the point of exhaustion produced less sperm during ejaculation. Specialists say that this happens because the body literally “kills” itself during training. To build muscles and improve the body, it needs to recuperate to attain normal cell development. Intense physical activities may reduce the level of hormones in the bloodstream that affects sperm production. Medical experts believe that sperm levels return to nearly normal after about three days. They added that drinking coffee after a few hours of training may protect sperm quality because of the antioxidants that are found in caffeine.

Indeed, understanding the benefits of martial arts and exercise can make a difference in one’s life. If done properly, these arts may promote good health and even better sex life.

Women’s Sexual Health: Age Doesn’t Matter

Women’s Sexual Health: Age Doesn’t Matter

Based on a recent study, there appeared to be no differences with respect to the frequency of sexual intercourse or the desire for sexual activity not involving intercourse among the different age groups. Age did not make a difference regarding the frequency of orgasm or in sexual satisfaction ratings with their partners.

Most women fear that as they age and the hormone levels drop, so too will their enjoyment of, and oftentimes desire for sex.

Fortunately, while diminishing hormones and sex may happen in the same breath, the latest research indicates that sexual desire has less to do with these changes than it does with lifestyle and other women’s sexual health factors, at least some of which are under a woman’s direct control.

According to reports from a group of distinguished European sex experts in the first ever supplement to The Menopause, the journal of the North American Menopause Society, the findings have helped professionals discard the notion that sexual difficulties occurring close to menopause are either biologic or physiologic.

The new research was part of a series of studies conducted on female sexual dysfunction by the department of clinical psychiatry and psychotherapy at Hanover Medical School in Hanover, Germany. As part of the overall project, 102 women aged 20 to “45 plus” answered 165 questions designed to flush out determinants of female sexual satisfaction.

Specifically, researchers hoped to determine satisfaction with sex life in general, sexual satisfaction and orgasm during intercourse, petting, masturbation, attitudes towards sexuality, quality of partnership, and women’s sexual health myths.

Based on the study, there appeared to be no differences with respect to the frequency of sexual intercourse or the desire for sexual activity not involving intercourse among the different age groups. Age did not make a difference regarding the frequency of orgasm or in sexual satisfaction ratings with their partners. For example, 29% of women up to age 45 reported having orgasms “very often,” compared with 26% of women over age 45.

Even more dramatic was that while 41% of women over age 45 reported having orgasms “often,” only 29% of younger women reported having an orgasm “often.”

Among the few differences in the groups: Women over 45 reported having fewer orgasms during non-intercourse sexual activity or during masturbation. Both groups of women reported a dual dimension necessary for successful lovemaking that included having both feelings of emotional closeness to their partner and satisfactory physical experiences.

After comparing all the answers from both older and younger women, as well as from women who reported sexual problems and those who did not, researchers concluded that the single most influential factor about women’s sexual health satisfaction via intercourse was the quality of the partnership, the quality of mutual respect, which then becomes of greater importance as a woman age.

After comparing these study results to earlier and ongoing findings, the researchers concluded that the basis of any sexual problems that did occur at midlife could not be drawn from menopause status or age alone. Instead, life stressors, contextual factors, past sexuality, and mental health problems are more significant predictors of midlife on women’s sexual health interest than menopause status itself.

This study was just one of several research papers presented in the journal about women’s sexual health dysfunction. Each one striving to shed much-needed light on a subject that some believe has been hidden in the shadows too long.
