Are you part of the working poor? 3 weapons are working against you.

Are you part of the working poor? 3 weapons are working against you.

It does not matter how much money you make a year. If you are a street sweeper or a corporate executive, you may be part of the working poor. Sometimes people get confused by looking at the media and what wealth and poverty appears to be. One of the most significant confusions come from the trappings of being wealthy. This article encourages you to be different, open your eyes and take an honest look at your life. Great things are happening around you, but it’s up to you to allow them to take place.

If you are reading this article, you are in the crossroad of a change in your life, and you may not be fully aware of it, because nothing happens by chance. This article presupposes that you have an income, and you are doing a fact check of where you are versus where you want to be.

Here are a few questions:

  1. Do you find yourself not opening your mail or not answering your phone, because you don’t know the phone number and use the excuse that it may be a telemarketer?
  2. Do you believe that nothing will change and the people around you agree?
  3. Do you sometimes find, that you do not have enough money to cover your monthly responsibilities?

Fear Mindset

“Names must your fear be before banish it you can!”

Yoda (Star Wars the empire strikes back)

You must define your fears before you can do anything about them. Most people don’t believe they dwell in fear because it is the way they’ve always done it. That repetitiveness is what caused them to live in that false comfort zone, and it’s that comfort zone that keeps them away from doing anything that will broaden their horizons. The things we most fear are the things we most need to do.

You must uncover fear disguised as optimism. There is very little difference between “Oh it is hopeless, so do not bother doing anything,” vs. “Do not bother just wait; it will turn out fine anyway.” In both cases, nothing will happen, opportunity lost. Growth requires present action in all things. Action may not bring happiness. However, there is no happiness without action.

You know that often people will dress up their fears to resemble optimistic denial. Often people will choose unhappiness over uncertainty. If people don’t know what to do, they will decide to do nothing instead.

What would happen if you did the opposite of the people around you? What would you give up if you continue this track for 5, 10, or even 15 years? It leads us into the next weapon.

Your Center of Influence

Everyone has heard the statement, “Birds of a feather flock together.” Know the difference between, need vs. want and prosperity vs. wealthy.

Let us use the example of Clark Kent versus Bruce Wayne; both want a new car to impress someone. Both have a team of people around them that are like-minded, but one will probably need to get a loan to get said a new car (hopefully without a cosigner), and the other can buy the dealership.

Both Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne have a team of people around them to maintain their way of life. Even in an alter ego state as superheroes, they have a group of like-minded people around them to defeat the foes of the day.

Both Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne had strong mentors around them to guide and lead them through their informative times. When you are learning new information for growth, it is essential that you look at the top 5 people in your life and see if they meet the level of achievement that you’re striving to reach.

Now let’s look at your center of influence, are they going in the direction that you would like to go? Are they like-minded with the same dreams and goals you have? Will they need to get a cosigner for a loan, or can they buy the dealership

The stress of being different

We have explored your fears and visited the people that make up your center of influence. Now let’s deal with stress and how it’s crippling effect can hinder you from achieving your desires.

The wealthy have the same number of hours in a day as everyone else, and they must eat and drink to maintain a healthy lifestyle. But what most people do not realize that they suffer from stress just like everyone else. The only difference is that they deal with a different type of pressure. They tend to make different decisions based on various information, knowledge and drive, also what they do on their downtime. It is what keeps them wealthy.

There are two types of stress destructive and constructive. Destruct stress cripples you where constructive stress encourages you to improve yourself and be better.

Stress and fear can go hand in hand, which often time is supported by your center of influence. So, dare to take a vacation in places where you have never been. Do things that excite you. See places that you have seen inside of magazines and television. Expose yourself to new environments and meet people from different lands, beyond your neighborhood.

Do the things that excite you more often, and this will enrich your life to the fullest. Create for yourself more options and start now. Stop waiting; there will rarely be a perfect time to do what it takes to get you on the path of excitement.

Martial arts and sexual health

Martial arts and sexual health

The article talks about the health benefits of exercise and martial arts which may include a better sex life. However, too much of these activities may also cause adverse effects in one’s sterility.

According to history, in A.D. 527, an emperor named Wu Di invited an Indian monk named Bodhidharma to travel to China.  The purpose of the journey was for Bodhidharma to come and teach his fellow monks in certain exercises to help strengthen their bodies.  Monks in Henan province were frequently attacked by bandits and had no training in how to defend themselves.

After arriving in Henan Temple, Bodhidharma meditated for nine long years.  After he finished the meditation, Bodhidharma wrote two books entitled, “Yi Jin Jing” and “Xi Sui Jing”.  The former was about exercises for developing external strength while the latter was about meditation and breathing. After finishing the two books, he wrote a third book entitled “Shi Bao Luo Han Shou” (The Eighteen Hands of Lohan), which was about his experiences as a member of the Kshatriya. (Indian warriors and rulers). This book included synchronized defensive routines. Historians consider this book as the first manual on offensive and defensive combat movements.  That was how the martial arts began in China.

These facts explain the close similarity of the postures in Chinese martial arts and yoga. Both traditions focused on the lower abdominal region as the center of all human energy (chi, pneuma, ki). Martial arts and Yoga were both developed to promote a healthy body, increase lifespan, and attain a state of bliss.

According to Eastern beliefs, the mysterious power of the chi is responsible for self-healing, self-recovery, and self-realization; and that all life in the cosmos is inspired by the chi.  As the “life force” or vital energy that is present in every living thing, it is also the same force that controls the universe. Chi is the Chinese word for the word life…and translated as ‘pneuma’ in Greek… and ‘ki’ in Japanese.

Clinical studies show that martial artists use several aspects of fitness like muscular strength, endurance, aerobic, and anaerobic conditioning. Their training also involves flexibility, body composition, motor skills, and coordination. These training modes may give practitioners health benefits such as stronger muscles and improved endurance. Martial arts training also includes meditation. These moments of stillness may bring short periods of relaxation. Some people see martial arts as “moving meditation.”  Researches have also shown that the regular practice of martial arts help release stress and improve one’s self-esteem.

Sexual health

But more than just a system of self-defense and meditation, the martial arts practice is also associated with the improvement of libido and overall sexual performance. People who frequently exercise have more energy, less anxiety, better self-esteem, and increased testosterone levels. Martial arts not only firm one’s body and improve their overall health, but martial arts can also improve one’s sex life. The practice of martial arts entails rigorous physical exertion.  Still, Bodhidharma was careful to teach his monk-students about the virtue of moderation.  He taught them that even in martial arts, care must be exercised to avoid over-training. Some studies show that too much intense physical training may influence one’s sterility.

An investigation by health experts revealed that exercising too much causes fatigue, which then temporarily reduces sperm count and quality.  Other researches point out that those who exercised to the point of exhaustion produced less sperm during ejaculation. Specialists say that this happens because the body literally “kills” itself during training. To build muscles and improve the body, it needs to recuperate to attain normal cell development. Intense physical activities may reduce the level of hormones in the bloodstream that affects sperm production. Medical experts believe that sperm levels return to nearly normal after about three days. They added that drinking coffee after a few hours of training may protect sperm quality because of the antioxidants that are found in caffeine.

Indeed, understanding the benefits of martial arts and exercise can make a difference in one’s life. If done properly, these arts may promote good health and even better sex life.

Women’s Sexual Health: Age Doesn’t Matter

Women’s Sexual Health: Age Doesn’t Matter

Based on a recent study, there appeared to be no differences with respect to the frequency of sexual intercourse or the desire for sexual activity not involving intercourse among the different age groups. Age did not make a difference regarding the frequency of orgasm or in sexual satisfaction ratings with their partners.

Most women fear that as they age and the hormone levels drop, so too will their enjoyment of, and oftentimes desire for sex.

Fortunately, while diminishing hormones and sex may happen in the same breath, the latest research indicates that sexual desire has less to do with these changes than it does with lifestyle and other women’s sexual health factors, at least some of which are under a woman’s direct control.

According to reports from a group of distinguished European sex experts in the first ever supplement to The Menopause, the journal of the North American Menopause Society, the findings have helped professionals discard the notion that sexual difficulties occurring close to menopause are either biologic or physiologic.

The new research was part of a series of studies conducted on female sexual dysfunction by the department of clinical psychiatry and psychotherapy at Hanover Medical School in Hanover, Germany. As part of the overall project, 102 women aged 20 to “45 plus” answered 165 questions designed to flush out determinants of female sexual satisfaction.

Specifically, researchers hoped to determine satisfaction with sex life in general, sexual satisfaction and orgasm during intercourse, petting, masturbation, attitudes towards sexuality, quality of partnership, and women’s sexual health myths.

Based on the study, there appeared to be no differences with respect to the frequency of sexual intercourse or the desire for sexual activity not involving intercourse among the different age groups. Age did not make a difference regarding the frequency of orgasm or in sexual satisfaction ratings with their partners. For example, 29% of women up to age 45 reported having orgasms “very often,” compared with 26% of women over age 45.

Even more dramatic was that while 41% of women over age 45 reported having orgasms “often,” only 29% of younger women reported having an orgasm “often.”

Among the few differences in the groups: Women over 45 reported having fewer orgasms during non-intercourse sexual activity or during masturbation. Both groups of women reported a dual dimension necessary for successful lovemaking that included having both feelings of emotional closeness to their partner and satisfactory physical experiences.

After comparing all the answers from both older and younger women, as well as from women who reported sexual problems and those who did not, researchers concluded that the single most influential factor about women’s sexual health satisfaction via intercourse was the quality of the partnership, the quality of mutual respect, which then becomes of greater importance as a woman age.

After comparing these study results to earlier and ongoing findings, the researchers concluded that the basis of any sexual problems that did occur at midlife could not be drawn from menopause status or age alone. Instead, life stressors, contextual factors, past sexuality, and mental health problems are more significant predictors of midlife on women’s sexual health interest than menopause status itself.

This study was just one of several research papers presented in the journal about women’s sexual health dysfunction. Each one striving to shed much-needed light on a subject that some believe has been hidden in the shadows too long.

Stress in Teens Causes Mental Health Dysfunction

Stress in Teens Causes Mental Health Dysfunction

People are stressed all the time. Although a lot of those stressful situations are felt by a teenager, proper management must be done to help the teenager cope up effectively. When stress enters the system and the mind can no longer handle the effects, mental health dysfunction can occur.

It doesn’t necessarily mean that the brain will stop working. However, it will not work as normal as it can be. There are a lot of stress factors that cause a person to feel discouraged and misunderstood. It might be a loss of a loved one, a massive surprising change in his life, being bullied or teased all the time, home problems and difficulties and school problems can bring so much stress to an adolescent.

What are the causes of stress?

It is a fact that most of the stressors in a child’s life are those which can’t be easily recognized by the guardian or the parent. These include:

  • First time or new time events like shifting from primary to secondary schooling, moving to a room that makes the child uneasy, meeting a new teacher that makes the child pees his pants, or moving to another location are some examples.

  • Homework that takes away playtime and requires a lot of time to do. Sometimes, teens also need attention and help with their homework but there’s no one around to lend a hand.

  • Unrealistic expectations regarding his or her performance in school even though he or she has already done well. This will invoke the fear of not being better.

  • A loss in the family is one of the major factors that a teenager needs to cope up most. The loss also refers to losing a father or mother through a divorce. This can raise an emotional fear that will bind him from the truth that it can happen to him when he has his own family.

  • Low self-esteem.

  • Watching stressful news, reading mindboggling articles like terrorists or natural disasters.

  • A long-term medical problem like diabetes or something short-term like a fractured bone.

  • A member of the family experiencing an acute or chronic medical problem.

  • Accidents.

  • Financial home problems which oftentimes becomes the reason to stop schooling.

Transitions like these can affect the entire mechanism of an individual. Even though your child seems to be very small to be stressed, they experience it too.

Dealing with stress can be difficult because it is the byproduct of everyday life and situations. One confusing thing regarding stress is that the symptoms connected to it don’t always follow immediately the cause of it. Another trouble about stress is that some may experience it and others don’t given the same kind of situation.

One ideal thing to do when faced with stress is to learn to cope. You must teach your teens how to cope with stress. These suggestions can also be useful to adults.

  1. Letting your adolescent practice a healthy lifestyle which includes eating a healthy diet, having appropriate sleep and daily exercise.

  1. Provide enough time to talk to your child about his or her day and how he feels about it. Communication is always the best outlet for negativity.

  1. Set goals that are realistic and achievable for your child’s capability.

  1. Talk to your child about decisions and options that can make certain changes in your family’s life.

Achieving mental health for your adolescent is possible only if you do your part as a parent.

Credit Card Fees – Lead to Staggering Amounts of Debt

Credit Card Fees – Lead to Staggering Amounts of Debt

Money is tight for a lot of people, and most of us are forced to live paycheck to paycheck. We also tend to rely on things like credit cards to get us by. This has led to staggering amounts of debt for thousands of people. Credit card debt is one of the primary forms of debt in America because of this. So, if you are one of the people in debt, you know how stressful it can be and how much you wish you could claw your way out.

Dealing with all the Credit Card Fees, the endless phone calls from your creditors, the stress of knowing that most of your money is going to just pay off these things, all the while forcing you to continue to use them. It is a vicious cycle that can be exceptionally difficult to break.

But while it is difficult to break, it is by no means impossible. In fact, there are some simple tips you can use to slowly pull yourself out of the hole of credit card debt.

Couple calculating financial budget

The first step in getting out of debt is to create a budget. Look at how much money you get every month, then look at how much money you spend every month. If you sit down and look at your expenses, I am sure you will notice a lot of frivolous things that you can cut out to help yourself with those Credit Card Fees. Something as simple as getting a coffee in the morning can really add up.

If you can cut down these unnecessary expenses, you can then take that extra money and apply it to your debt. It may be tempting to throw it at your largest debt first, but this is the wrong move. We need our little victories, and it is also a snowball effect. So, if you have multiple credit cards and are in debt with each, look at the one with the least amount of debt.

If you take that money you are saving and put it all towards paying off the lowest credit card, you can make some serious progress and pay it off quite quickly. This will give you that victory you need, it will boost your morale as you can see you really can claw your way out.

But that is only the beginning. From there you will want to apply, not only the money you had been saving by cutting back on unnecessary expense but also the money you are saving by not having to make payments on that credit card. Now you will have a lot more money every month that you can apply to the next lowest debt.

It is a rinse and repeat process from here on out. You just take the money you save by paying off a card and apply it to the next highest one. It will take a long time to knock out those Credit Card Fees if you are deep in debt, and you may need to do some extra work to get there. But by utilizing this method you can make some serious headway in your fight against your debt.
