How to Find Alternative Employment?

How to Find Alternative Employment?

Many people are in a position where they are not happy with their current role in employment. They would love to be able to find alternative work but may be scared or unsure of how to proceed. This could be because they have worked for the same company for many years and feel that they have lost touch with where to look for work or about the daunting task of attending an interview.

Breaking Through the Maze to Freedom

There are many places where people can go to in their quest to find alternative employment. If you are one of these people who has worked for the same company for quite a long time, you may be pleasantly surprised at the amount of help and opportunities that are out there. The government is trying to help people to gain employment which allows them in turn to announce lower unemployment figures for the country.

Job center’s

For many, the first port of call would be to go to their local job center. In my opinion, most of the vacancies that are available here are not for precisely well-paid positions, however, in general, the staff usually are very friendly and helpful.

The internet

Since the birth of the internet, there have been an increasing number of websites offering job finding services, and many of the larger companies advertise their vacant positions on the web. If you have access to the internet, this is a great place to look when attempting to find work and many people have seen a new career in this way.

Many of the websites offer a service where you can upload your abilities to their database. They can also provide you a job alert system, this is where they e-mail people all the new vacancies that suit their requirements. This, of course, saves you time as you, therefore, do not have to keep checking every day.

Friends and family

It is also a good idea to ask friends and family if they know of anywhere that is looking for new recruits. This could even be at the company where they work. Many people find employment in this way.

Recruitment agencies

I think my personal favorite place to attempt to find work is via a recruitment agency. This is where they basically do all the leg work for you. They basically contact people who are on their books with what they believe to be a suitable role and then set up the interviews as well. Recruitment agencies can also offer advice about how to write a professional looking cover letter and recommendation about interview techniques.

There are many places where people can go to look for alternative work. Therefore there is no need to be daunted by the whole processor to continue to be stuck in a dead-end job.

Business Opportunities Versus Employment: Which Is Right for You?

Business Opportunities Versus Employment: Which Is Right for You?

When it comes to making a living, there are two options: being in business for yourself or being employed by a company or an individual. Of these two options, there is considerable latitude in what is considered being in business for yourself, especially if you take advantage of business opportunities. Some business opportunities so closely mirror employment, that many people mistakenly believe them ‘jobs.’ But business opportunities are not in this category. To understand the difference, read on as this article will explain in detail how things work with business opportunities versus regular employment.

Household expenses concept

Firstly, most business opportunities will require a person to fill out 1099 versus a W-2, which is the tax form used for regular employment by companies. Both types will alert the IRS that you need to pay your taxes, but 1099 does not allow for deductions as a W-2 does. When you use 1099, you must pay for your taxes on your own. It is one of the significant disadvantages of working with business opportunities, especially if you make a lot of money. To try to avoid problems, make sure you keep a close record of all your business transactions. Also set aside 35 percent of your salary for taxes. You can put this in a savings account so you can accumulate interest. Hopefully, you will have enough write-offs that you’ll be able to pocket your savings once tax time comes.

Secondly, most business opportunities do not offer ‘guaranteed’ 9-to-5 employment, as most hire you as an independent contractor. It is the case whether you are working business opportunities at home or in an office. If you must fill out 1099, you are in business for yourself. Anyway, some business opportunities offer such a steady stream of work that you not being hired as an hourly employee is not a problem. However, many others have jobs now and then. In these cases, you will want to try several sets of business opportunities, so you can always have a steady stream of work to support yourself.

Work from Home

Lastly, business opportunities tend not to offer health insurance. Granted, nowadays many ‘regular’ employers also won’t offer health insurance but being able to get some form of health insurance seems to be more typical with full-time jobs. With most business opportunities, you will not get health insurance no matter how many hours you work. However, there are exceptions, but they are quite expensive exceptions. In these situations, all that has happened is that the company offering the business opportunity has struck up a ‘deal’ with an insurance company. You are still paying as if you had signed up for the insurance yourself without the aid of a company.

In conclusion, the main differences between business opportunities and regular employment are found in the areas of taxes, work structure, and health insurance. Indeed, these differences may make some conclude business opportunities are not for them. For others, it may not matter as much because the freedom offered through business opportunities outweigh the disadvantages.

Putting it together

Putting it together

I find that personal finances can be like a huge 3D puzzle set, you have all the pieces, Identify all the shapes, and know how the different forms supposed to interact with one another. Sometimes something goes wrong, you can not find the piece that you need right now, it’s not coming together as you thought, It’s taking much more time to complete than you first thought and it’s harder to put it together. maybe because it’s a lot of very intricate puzzle pieces, but most times in personal finances is because you can’t see the big picture like when people buy a puzzle set

Rich or Poor Acquire Wealth Money Puzzle Piece Hole 3d Illustration

There is a significant advantage that a puzzle set has over your finances; you can go to one place to purchase all the pieces that you need for the puzzle, like a one-stop shop and not have to pick up a part here and get another piece over there. The one thing about puzzles is that when you go to the store to purchase a set, you see the puzzle set that you would enjoy, and you take it home. It doesn’t matter how many pieces that are in that puzzle set you will begin the task at hand, set aside some time to complete the task, clear out an area to which to concentrate on the puzzle set and start to work on the puzzle set. Everyone knows it’s not going to take more than one day.

Now the benefit of the puzzle set is you have all the pieces you need to complete the task at hand. you cut out some time to work on the job, and now you’re about to do the puzzle set starting with the corners and edges as most people do. Identify each piece and put the pieces in their proper place until you get the final image is represented on the container.

When it comes to your finances, you may not be able to connect the dots, follow GPS road maps, or have a final image to emulate. In most educational institutions do not teach personal finances and how to create wealth or even how to avoid your financial pitfalls. Maybe also build businesses that will help not only you but other people around you. You know most people rely on the skills that they’ve acquired over time either through their surroundings and or through in copying someone else’s habits, but that may not work for you. The best way to find a problem is first to identify the issues that are causing the problem. Everybody knows that creating a financial system offers the best results and being consistent and sticking with that system you can create great wealth throughout a lifetime.

Rescued from drowning

Where to start?

First, participate in your own rescue and identify any holes in your budget. This action requires you to take a daily audit of your spending habits. Start with a notepad and for 30 days write down every purchase, and I mean every purchase, no matter how small it may seem, now, how you made that purchase, include purchases with a debit card, credit card, or cash. Write it all down the date that you purchased and where you made the purchase. Also, track all recurring payments you make each month like credit cards, installments, and utility payments. Do this for 30 days, and as the puzzle set, you will see a pattern developing.

Improving your financial outlook will take some time. Everybody knows that the issues did not happen overnight, and the corrections won’t happen overnight as well. So, wherever you find yourself, pace yourself, educate yourself on your financial habits and educate yourself on what tools are available you and reach out to people who can assist you in reaching your desired lifestyle.

Why a University Education?

Why a University Education?

The world in which we live is constantly evolving. We are demanding more and more from our citizens than ever before and in order to live up to the demands of the world, we need a solid education upon which to base our skills and knowledge. There are many alternatives available for receiving an education these days, which is good news for those who have not yet managed to obtain a four-year college degree. Truthfully, that degree is the difference in literally hundreds of thousands of dollars over the course of a lifetime than not having a degree.

Four Reasons for a Four-Year Education

Money. The first reason that you should consider a university degree is a fact that it will substantially increase your earning potential. If nothing else appeals to you, this is typically the one reason that most people return to school after years in the workplace. If you are in high school and haven’t really had to deal with the bills and burdens that many adults face it’s difficult to explain how important any edge when it comes to earning ability truly is. However, you should be aware that you need to choose your major wisely if money is your sole motivation. Not all careers pay equally when compared to the education required to enter them.

Insurance. This may seem like a strange term to use when discussing why you should get a university education, but this is perhaps the best insurance you can find as far as employability goes. Having a university degree gives you a competitive edge over those who do not. In many cases, you will find that education is beginning to trump experience as employers are seeking workers with more rounded skills rather than those with very specific skills. The modern university typically requires a brief exposure to all kinds of information and coursework that isn’t necessarily related to your major. This provides graduates with a broader understanding of the world (at least that is the assumption).

Employability. Believe it or not, those with degrees are much more employable than those that do not have them. There was a time when the trend was to employ those who had experience over those who had an education. That trend is rapidly evaporating as companies want employees that can fill multiple roles more and more often. The limited exposure to certain ideas or ideals and principles that most people receive as part of their university education makes you a more employable candidate because you should be able to adapt and adjust, as this was required during your educational process.

Confidence. There is nothing quite like believing in yourself. Getting a four-year education is one way to build confidence not only on a personal level but also on a professional level. Whether or not you realize it, this is often the best reason for pursuing a university degree. This reason, as a matter of fact, will affect all the other things I mentioned above. If you have more confidence in your ability you will be more willing to go out there and get the job done. As a result, you will earn more money and you will ensure that you are an asset to your company by proving yourself to be just that.

Regardless of your personal reason for pursuing a university degree, there are very few wrong reasons to get your degree. Good luck in your educational pursuits. I know they will serve you well.

Virtual Careers, Self-Employment, Self-Assess, Or Self-Destruct

Virtual Careers, Self-Employment, Self-Assess, Or Self-Destruct

Unfortunately, high hopes and large amounts of time, energy and commitment — valuable though they may be — do not ensure the success of an entrepreneurial venture. In fact, research indicates that about 60 percent of all businesses fail within the first two years. Much depends on the individual’s “entrepreneurial profile,” and one of the best ways to discover this is by doing a self-assessment.

Over the years, working with some 4,000 Virtual Assistants and Virtual Professionals in 65+ countries and being entrepreneurs ourselves, we’ve developed a good practical sense of the traits that successful entrepreneurs share. We used this background in designing the application process for our Portable Career & Virtual Assistant Training Program for Military Spouses™, and it has helped substantially in identifying candidates with the greatest likelihood of success both in training and afterward, as they launch and grow their virtual businesses.

The following Entrepreneurial Self-Assessment is adapted from the online application form for our Virtual Assistant training program. This series of 13 questions is one of the tools we use to see if an applicant has characteristics commonly found in successful business owners.

43 to 54
While a score between 43 and 54 indicates you exhibit some of the core characteristics necessary to succeed in running your own business, you are likely to find many difficulties in self-employment and could often feel obliged to “act out of character” to succeed.

55 to 65
Achieving a score between 55 and 65 indicates you possess good entrepreneurial traits and should have a very good chance of being a successful entrepreneur.

66 or higher
Achieving a score of 66 or higher indicates you possess top-notch entrepreneurial characteristics and should have an excellent chance of success in your own small business.

Of course, successful people come in many shapes and forms, and there is no “one size fits all” assessment tool for entrepreneurship. Although this self-evaluation should help you better understand the mindset and character traits of successful entrepreneurs, and how you “stack up” relative to that group, in the end, it will be your own unique personality and circumstances that will determine your own unique future.
